Practical details for a comfortable first visit

Bring warm layers, water, and a red-light flashlight if you have one. Binoculars are optional, and we always share telescopes so you can join fully even if you arrive with just curiosity.

If cloud cover or wind affects viewing, we adjust the plan on site or shift to a short sky-orientation discussion. Safety and clear communication come first, so no one is left guessing.

Absolutely. Many attendees are first-timers, and volunteers explain each step in plain language. You can ask any question at any point—our meetups are built to be welcoming and low-pressure.

We begin with a brief welcome, then move through planned targets in the sky. You can join on time or slightly later, and we note approximate end times so you can plan your evening comfortably.
